"Management Musings-1": 'Looking Within":

"Management Musings-1":
'Looking Within":

Corona crisis has been one of the greatest threat mankind has ever faced in its History. But with a positive state of mind, it can be looked upon as an opportunity because it is giving all of us a total new experience and making time available to explore ourselves and find out what we best at and what therefore, we should do.

While I was thinking on those lines in the morning today as per my regular habit at the morning Tea Time, I just opened my Treasure book of management notes which I had compiled after reading a number of books from management experts almost 15 years ago. Now today I am going to share with you, the page, which I opened and started reading it, is about knowing yourself, what you are and what you should be and what you can be.

The management notes go on like this:

"In today's knowledge economy where people are the only resource, self knowledge is the key for Organisational and personal transformation. You must look at you as a brand and for that you must be aware of your beliefs and values, feelings, vision and your levels of self acceptance, self expression, your self confidence about your unique contribution.

At the core of honest expression is the self expression. Everyone is unique and you are, what your parents and what experience you went through so far. Your future depends upon your present personal responsibilities and on how well you shoulder the same.

You must first have a clear definition of success in life. It is the outcome of your purpose: why you are, what you are. The purpose tends to define the boundaries of quality of life, you wish to strive at and enjoy. A successful person becomes an inspirational brand.

Find out what is the reason for you, to work :to get money, to get name and fame, to enrich yourself and grow or any other. What kind of work environment and people characteristics you are comfortable with and enjoy.

0ur thinking system is a five step pyramid:
1 Beliefs and Values,
2 Thoughts and Expectations,
3 Emotions,
4 Behaviour and
5 Actions.

Please remember:
Behaviour is, how you do,
Action is, what you do.

Building beliefs is like learning to drive, as you learn to drive, it becomes habit and you are not conscious about how to drive.

Values define what is most important to me what are my specific priorities outside work and at work.

You need to find out white kind of change you intend to have in the context of variety of issues such as:

Meaningful work, security, love, family, competition status,
personal growth, health,
community service, adventure
Peace of Mind, Wealth,
Making a difference, Power Happiness, Integrity, Recognition Respect, Loyalty,
Independence, Wisdom, Team work
Leasure, Variety

Just to know, where you are now on your next birthday, please try to imagine what following three persons would say about you:
1 A family member
2 A Friend
3 Former colleague

Also try yourself to answer:
1 What are your thinking and How & Why?
2 How are you feeling?
3 What are your insights for today and future.

And finally...
Seven introspectIve thoughts:
1 Don't be rich Money wise-Time poor.
2 Have full faith/pride in what you do.
3 Put family first, before your career. 4 Be a Dream Catcher.
5 Identify your 'X' Factor.
6 Don't lose the common touch.
7 Don't settle for success but for significance.
