"Management Musings-9":
"Looking back, Looking Forward":
After a few days gap, when today morning Tea Time, I opened my old Treasure book of Management notes, I came across the History of evolution of Man and his World alongwith the development he has witnessed through all these years due to the Fundamental Revolutions. The interesting part of the same, I am pleased to share here:
"Three Revolutions have changed the History of Human race; the first being Agricultural Revolution, second is Industrial Revolution and the third one is The Knowledge Revolution. Behind all these had been the effect of Art of Management and man's quest for technological advancement.
The Agro Era brought about radical changes in the primitive man and the first flock of human groups, then the society, then the Nation States culminated into reality. The industrial revolution changed the very nature of work and economic means, as the muscle power was replaced by machine power ! This phase gave rise to more mobility, specialised kills, more materialistic Comforts and convenience, besides rapidly developing the Economy.
The final revolution, that of Knowledge has brought the entire World on the flat platform and boundaries of distance and time have vanished vertually. The economic fall out of this Revolution has been phenomenal & countries after countries are now becoming more prosperous day by day.
These three revolutions have changed the behaviour, affected social cultural systems and values drastically. Each individual has now become a self centred unit: from flock to joint families to nuclear families to individual alone-the Rise and fall of human values in these three Revolutions has also been glaring.
Total self-centeredness, selfishness fast food, fast money culture has brought about criminal instincts without any shame. The peace of mind, genuine concern for needy, the very value for Human life has unfortunately vanished. When you look around today in the Jungle of so-called prosperity, you find more and more acts of terrorism, crimes, rapes, thefts decoity and Land and Money scams, frauds and what not ! The security, the peace are at Stake and uncertainty of human life under such environment are the critical issues to be adressed on a war footing by the Human race.
Soner or latter the answers and solutions to these Divastating issues would have to be found. For that, we have to face the root question:
'What is it, that compels one to commit crime & injustice to others' !
These Ten Major events have changed the World like never before:
1. 11/9: Berlin fall wall: the fall on
9the November 1989- the wind allowing us to assume the World as a single space.
2. 8/9: 9/8/1995 Netscape went public and Dot com bubble emerged creating people to people connectivity.
3. Workflow software applications' expansion. The World could come together, manupulating and shaping words, data and images, like never before.
4. Outsourcing: connecting apps to apps seamlessly.
5. Offshoring entire factories: Shifting base due to economic reasons and benefits.
6. Open Sourcing: free of charge Information sharing.
7. Insourcing.
8. Supply chain management-use of ERP & SAP.
9. Informing: through Net search.
&
10. The Steroids: Wireless access & voice over internet protocol.
These Ten events have completely changed the World and economic dynamics of the World.
Finally,
The most Worthy: the Most Critical:
The Human Mind is a puzzle, there are no set rules which are followed by human mind; the moods change, your views change, your actions and behaviour changes any moment, any time & that change is unpredictable.
As the time changes every second, the too, mind also changes anyway, any moment. Sometimes you are active, you are enthusiastic and sometimes you are down and out !
Inconsistency is maintained by the mind constantly !
Probably that is the very nature of Human mind. Howsoever you may determine to mould the mind, try turning it to your preconceived plans, it need not or more correctly, would not go your way ! One's future, One's happiness & satisfaction level is totally dependent on the way the mind looks at the changes that go on happening.
