“Management Musings-14”:
“The Different Strokes-1”:
The Game Changers in Life
There are Victory Points, as well as Turning Points in Life. Victory
Points are the successful fights against the odds & challenges and mostly
are achievable due to out of box thinking & sustained efforts. On the other
hand, in the course of the journey of Life, one does encounters many a Turning
points which ultimately change his path and possibly Future too. This is
because TPs have the Power to generate all together different options &
probabilities- that can turn out bad or good. It is interesting at least
sometime in Life; one must review his past & to review the VPs & TPs
gone by.
Whenever you recall & introspect; while VPs would focus on your
wins, most likely the TPs happen to be your losses. It is further exciting to
review the TPs & try to imagine the possibilities, if at all, these TPs
have not occurred, a different picture of what Life would or could have been
would emerge. Thus you would get a kaleidoscope of dynamic images of variety of
possibilities in your Life resulting into a different position as on Present.
Answer to the Qn why at all these TPs come in our Lives, is very
difficult & possibly impossible. On the hindsight, TPs are results of few
factors, not in our hands-hence uncontrollable; while there could be
those culminating from our own Decisions then, on optional choices available.
These Decisions are mostly dependent on our beliefs & values as well as the
way we want to lead Life based on our Character. Such very decisions &
actions that appear to be the Most correct, right at that moment of time,
mostly in future get viewed as the wrong ones; for short term satisfaction
then; we have missed the road to a much better, comfortable future.
In the ultimate analysis, we should & must accept these TPS as they
were, without any remorse or repentance and get ready to look forward to more
such fresher TPs in the unknown Future.
Honestly & Frankly, this Monologue is only for my
own self-expression & self- satisfaction & I don’t have the
courage to imagine their acceptance/rejection when read.
But I do take the Liberty to mention that these are for Posterity.
Glimpse of World Outside
Somewhere, I read a brief article in which the young writer had to leave
his pet two wheeler in his home town, due to his transfer to a faraway City for
a year. Earlier, in the new City stay, he was sad to have left his two wheeler
back home, now to be compelled to go by bus to his office daily, spending over
1 hour. But as days passed and his day to return back home came; now, he found,
he was sad to miss his Bus travel, which had given him a rich, memorable
experience! In this sojourn, he learnt about the importance of adjustments,
discipline besides the pleasures of knowing the city, its Wonderful people and
above all human relationships! The moral of the story is: it's all important
how you look at the challenges, as a curse or as an opportunity!
Immediately after reading the article, I felt to share my feelings like
above here, was simply because I too had no luxury of my own vehicle to travel
but to go by public transport all the time and My feelings just tuned in, what
this writer narrated in the article : by not having my own vehicle, I too, used
to be happy to know the 'World Outside' than to be closeted in my own 'narrow
World'!
The Rich Heritage
Recently, I saw a TV Program on Sahyadri Chanel wherein memorable
coverage was shown through an Exhibition of profiles of great Indian
sages/Rushis in the ancient era, who have contributed pioneering knowledge in
various fields of mathematics, engineering, medicine, surgery, astronomy,
astrology and so on.
This Exhibition is in the Ashram of Siddhagiri maharaj in a place few
miles away from Kolhapur. Life & Times of around thirty
two Rushi-Munis like Parashar, Kapil, Bharadwaj, Vyas, Bhagirath etc
are presented in this classic exhibition. All this reflects what kind of Rich
Heritage We had and undoubtadely we were Giga times ahead of the Rest of The
World, then.
